Our COVID-19 arrangements

There are no longer any government restrictions relating to our in-person gatherings.

If you have COVID symptoms, have tested positive or if you should be in isolation for another reason, please do not come to our gatherings. Instead, get in touch with us and we will see how we can support you until we can see you in person again!

Masks are not compulsory though you are welcome to wear one if you prefer, and we have masks available at the front door.

GOING FORWARD

If our situation changes in any way, we will let you know. Check this page for updates.

Our approach

We care about the health and safety of our church community and surrounding neighbourhoods, and we want to reflect the care and compassion of Jesus in making decisions about how we operate. Decisions about how we gather will be made with respect to:

  • Ongoing public health advice and government-mandated restrictions.

  • The size of our venues (e.g. Lyons Corner and our homes) and whether we can meet the current distancing requirements.

  • Practicalities of adhering to any necessary COVID hygiene measures (e.g. cleaning and sanitising, monitoring attendance, safety plan).

  • Our obligations as hirers (we hire our Sunday venue).

  • Ongoing prayer and discernment by our leaders and us as a church community.

No matter what happens…

Church is not cancelled. We’re still loving, still hoping, still here.

Message from Brent

Recorded March 2020, at the start of the first round of COVID restrictions, explaining our intentions and approach:

Our approach

As ‘partners in the gospel’ we all have a role to play in reflecting God’s heart to those around us.

Throughout this pandemic we have an opportunity to bring peace and hope to an anxious world. At the same time we want to ensure we reflect the compassion of Jesus by doing what we can to keep people safe and well, particularly those who are at higher risk of complications from illness.

We can show this compassion by:

  • Following the advice of the ACT Government regarding good hygiene, home quarantine etc.

  • Suspending or changing our in-person gatherings as per government advice.

  • Practising ‘loving our neighbour’.

  • Looking out for each other and keeping in touch, particularly with those who have to be isolated.

  • Continuing to pray for our neighbourhoods, our town and our world in this difficult time.
