Redhill Church is a community of people. As ‘partners in the gospel’, all of us are called to serve and minister, each with a role to play in what God wants to do in our church, our town and the world.

We have leaders who help guide and support us: our core leadership to oversee spiritual health and general direction, and our ministry team to lead specific ministry areas.

Core Leadership

Our Redhill Church Core Leadership (elders) oversee the general direction and spiritual health of the church. Our Core Leadership are Brent and Jill Smith, Emily and Vaughan Minto and Andrew and Candace Spencer. Between them they spend their days working in education, government, looking after their kids, creative pursuits, food-related activities, sports-watching and hanging with friends.

Ministry Team

These people oversee specific ministry areas in the church:

Brent Smith - Pastor

Brent is the pastor of Redhill Church. He graduated from Australian College of Ministries in 2002 and his work has included being the chaplain at Narrabundah College for eight years and Associate Pastor at LifeStream Christian Fellowship Wanniassa for seven years. His background also includes a bunch of youth ministry, lots of drumming, travel, hospitality work, drawing Garfield sketches and a particularly perilous period in his teens hanging off the back of a milk truck. Brent and his wife Jill live in Woden and have two young daughters.

Emily Minto - Worship Pastor

Emily is the worship pastor of Redhill Church, which includes developing our musicians, coordinating the worship times at our gatherings, songwriting and overseeing Redhill Music. Emily has been songwriting for most of her life and leading worship in churches and conferences for nearly two decades. While she’s not pounding the keys of her piano she’s teaching primary school, looking after her three kids and enjoying life’s adventures with her husband Vaughan. She’s also a seasoned traveller and baker extraordinaire!

Andrew Spencer - Treasurer

Andrew is our Treasurer, which means he makes sure our money gets to where it should so we can do the things we think we’re called to do. Andrew works as a business consultant and loves motor vehicles of the Ford variety, cycling, cracking witticisms and spending time with his wife Candace and two sons.

Candace Spencer - Kids Ministry

Candace oversees the kids ministry at Redhill, including coordinating what our kids learn and do on Sundays and ensuring our kids are included in the life of our church community. Candace is a high school English teacher and loves literary pursuits, thinking creatively, pastoral care and caring for her two sons with husband Andrew.

Julie and Rohan Geddes - Community and Discipleship

Rohan and Julie are working with Brent to help Redhill grow in the areas of community and discipleship, with a focus on developing our Redhill groups looking both inward and outward.

Julie works in Defence administration and enjoys sport, being social and gettin' it done. Rohan is a real-life fireman with a busy home reno company on the side, plus a hobby of semi-professional mountain-biking, explaining his weirdly smooth calves. They have two young daughters and live in Kambah.

Jeremy and Jordan Bromhead - Young Adults

Jeremy and Jordan help build community among our young adults through coordinating a range of social and other YA events throughout the year.

Jeremy is an electrician who moonlights as a student at the Australian College of Ministries (ACOM), studying a Bachelor of Ministry and developing ministry skills at Redhill. Jordan is a nutrition science grad and worked in administration with the pollies on the ‘hill before welcoming their new baby girl in June 2019.

Amanda Waite - Sunday Missions Updates

Amanda coordinates our monthly missions updates at Redhill, helping us to stay informed about what our friends in mission are doing abroad and interstate. Amanda is a graduate of the ANU School of Music and is a drummer in the Royal Military Band. She loves adventure and the outdoors, and the crazy adventure of parenting three young kids with her husband Jon.
