Expanding our leadership team

As announced at church last Sunday, we have been looking to expand our church leadership (“elders”) for some time (currently it’s Brent, Jill, Andrew, Candace). Our leaders are people who commit to spiritual oversight of the church community, which means praying for the church, talking about our direction, decision-making and ensuring people are cared for in the best way we can.

After much prayerful consideration we have invited Narelle and Gary Barkley to consider if they would like to be put forward for leadership, and after their own prayerful consideration they have agreed.

Gary and Narelle have been part of Redhill Church since 2016. They have also served as missionaries in the Philippines several times, including during their time at Redhill. We have been greatly encouraged by their participation in our church community so far, including their pastoral hearts, faithful serving, connecting with people of all ages, their missional perspective and spiritual maturity. 

We are open to our leadership expanding further in future - for example, bringing in some younger voices. We also don’t require leaders to be couples, but in this case we were keen for both Narelle and Gary to join us, each bringing their individual strengths and passions.

Our process is that we now put it to the church to invite any comments, questions or concerns. If you have any, please contact Brent, Jill, Candace or Andrew by 22 July 2025.

If there are no sustained objections or concerns, we will confirm Gary and Narelle as leaders in late July.
